I have heaps of relevant qualifications and plenty of experience to help you solve your parenting or sleep issues with your child or family, so please read on to find out more…
I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2005 and qualified as a Health Visitor in 2013. During that time, I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with and continue to work with a diverse group of parents who have experienced a range of issues varying from sleep deprivation, childhood challenging behaviours, fussy eating, parental separation, chaotic routines, postnatal depression, worries and concerns about their new baby, sibling rivalry, through to working with vulnerable families within the child protection arena. This has meant I’ve developed many valuable skills that help me to support parents through their own specific challenging situations. With the qualifications I have, it’s meant I’ve spent time studying up to Masters level learning about how I can be better at what I do and continue to do now as a parenting and sleep specialist and has spurred me on to offer parents a personalised service suited to their own family’s needs.
But as equally as important for you to know is that I’m also a parent of four children aged 17, 12, 9 and 4 years old. I’ve been married, had 2 children, got divorced, I became a single parent, then remarried and had 2 more children, so it’s safe to say my family and I have had our fair share of ups and downs! I believe that the personal experiences of dealing with similar challenges families face is invaluable and combining that with the knowledge and skills I have as a professional means that parents can have confidence in me and my services.
I’m not a perfect parent and I don’t tell people how to be perfect parents, we learn from our mistakes and move on. Building your resilience and confidence in yourself as a parent will help you to find ways to resolve the challenges you come across in family life – I can help you achieve this.
